Regional Wealth is Silver used for trading and developing your settlement. You can earn Regional Wealth by selling goods through the Trading Post or by passively collecting taxes from families residing in Burgage Plot level 2 and above.
At the beginning of the game, you receive 50 Regional Wealth as starting capital.
Trading Guide
You can trade any resource in the game. Trading in Manor Lords is conducted through the Trading Post building, available for construction from the very beginning of the game. To operate the Trading Post, you must assign at least one family to work there. The currency used is Regional Wealth.
How to Sell Goods and Earn Regional Wealth
In the Trading Post interface, go to the Trade section and find the resource you intend to sell, for example, Planks.
In the action selection field, choose “Export.” In the Desired Surplus field, specify the amount of the resource you want to keep in your warehouse. Sales will only occur if you have more of the resource than you indicated in this field.
Now your trader will start traveling to the nearest Tradepoint (marked with blue icons on the map, as shown in the screenshot) and gradually sell surplus Planks.
TIP: Try to sell only renewable resources and products derived from them, such as Planks, Bows, Hides, Shields, and so on. Aim to accumulate limited resources (Iron Ore, Clay, Stone, etc.). Also, avoid selling food, even if you have plenty of it.
How to Buy Goods for Regional Wealth
In the Trading Post interface, go to the Trade section and find the resource you want to purchase, for example, Meat.
In the action selection field, choose “Import.” In the Desired Surplus field, specify the amount of the resource you want to have in your warehouse. Purchases will only occur if you have less of the resource than you indicated in this field.
Just like with Export, establishing a trade route significantly speeds up the resource procurement process.
Supply and Demand in the Global Market
Manor Lords simulates a realistic feudal economy. The more of the same item you purchase, the higher its price will rise because the Global Market Supply will deplete. Conversely, the more of the same item you sell, the faster the Global Market Supply will saturate, leading to a significant price decrease and consequently reducing your trading profit.
You can monitor the state of the Global Market Supply for each resource and item in the Trading Post interface. If the price of a particular item rises or falls too sharply, you can always stop trading by selecting “No Trade” in the action selection field. Over time, the Global Market Supply gradually returns to its normal “Average” state, and the price normalizes.
How to Establish a Trade Route to Speed Up Trading
You can expedite trading by establishing a Trade Route. In this case, Travelling Merchants will regularly visit your Trading Post, buying or selling large volumes of goods. Note that Travelling Merchants cannot trade with you if no family is assigned to work in the Trading Post.
Also, note that for trading certain items (such as weapons and armor), having a Trade Route is mandatory. An established Trade Route alone does not do anything.
Another way to speed up trading is by purchasing a horse and assigning it to work in the Trading Post, as shown in the screenshot.
Afterward, your trader will stop walking to the Tradepoint and instead ride there on this horse-drawn cart, transporting significantly more goods.
How to Make Trading More Profitable
There are two technologies in the settlement Development tree that can make your trading more profitable.
-
Trade Logistics: Establishing a new Trade Route always costs 25 Regional Wealth. This is very useful, as initially, establishing a Trade Route for some goods costs 70-90 Regional Wealth.
-
Better Deals: Prices for importing any goods decrease by 10 Regional Wealth. Currently, this is the most useful technology in the game, allowing you to easily address shortages of any goods.
I recommend researching these technologies as early as possible to actively procure all necessary goods and resources, including weaponry for your army.
Passive Income of Regional Wealth from Burgage Plots
Every family residing in Burgage Plot level 2 and above will generate passive Silver income monthly.
- Burgage Plots level 2 – 1 Silver per family per month
- Burgage Plots level 3 – 2 Silver per family per month
Thus, to passively earn Regional Wealth, it is worthwhile to maximize the number of families in your city and settle them in Burgage Plots level 2 or 3.
